To Whom it May Concern

They say she spends her time these days

Writing in a little book.

Something about the path she’s took

More about how bad she hurts.

And as the words pour out her mind

We find, we find

A life so cold

Thoughts from a frightened soul

A sadness we don't even know

Who would have known,

She's living this life all alone?

So she fakes a smile these days

Trying to show that she's okay

Something to do with a broken heart

More about keeping us away

Now as we read out every line

We find, we find

A life so cold

Thoughts from a frightened soul

A sadness we don't even know

Who would have known,

She's living this life all alone?

She finally found a way to escape

All the pain she couldn't take

It all had to do with a silent cry

We should have heard

Now as we read her final words

We find, we find

A life so cold

Thoughts from a frightened soul

A sadness we don't even know

A life so cold

Thoughts from a frightened soul

A sadness we don't even know

We should have known

We should have known

These lyrics came to me in the middle of the night. Not sure if it was a dream or what but the feeling of loss was so powerful that these words poured out. Maybe they were for you.

Maybe someone you know. We all battle with demons and all in our own way. I pray

anyone contemplating their life has one person in their corner who can see through a smile. I know I've faked enough in my day and would have given anything to have someone look closer, even though I wouldn't have admitted it then. Sometimes there's more to hear behind "I'm okay."
