Guilty Heart

I find myself thinking about the road I've traveled and what happened to all the hearts that I unraveled

I pray, they were better at picking up the pieces

I'm a ghost of someone that i used to know, trying to find a way to just let go

Still searching for what peace is

It's a guilty heart

That hangs onto yesterday

I wish that I could find that time

I'd say “I'm sorry for all my ways”

I need to quit looking back

So I'll stop stumbling through today

It's my guilty heart

It’s my guilty heart

That holds on, that holds onto yesterday

I find small truths to be a bit unnerving thinking about the blame and how I'm deserving

I pray that one day I'll hear “it's okay”

I've left so many parts of me across my past small reminders of how it never lasts

I'm still searching for that word

It's a guilty heart

That hangs onto yesterday

I wish that I could find that time

I'd say “I'm sorry for all my ways”

I need to quit looking back

So I'll stop stumbling through today

It’s my guilty heart

It’s my guilty heart

That holds on, that holds onto yesterday

It's this guilty heart casting shadows

I hide behind I hide behind that I hide behind

It's this guilty heart casting shadows

I hide behind I hide behind that I hide behind

Was this somehow my design?

It's my guilty heart

That hangs onto yesterday

I wish that I could find that time

I'd say “I'm sorry” I’d say “I’m sorry” I’d say “I’m sorry for all my ways”

I need to quit looking back

So I'll stop stumbling through today

It's my guilty heart

It’s my guilty heart
